  1. I absolutely love this addition. Pictures reveal so much, I enjoy looking at them in books. Are they in your memoir?

You’re mother is beautiful indeed–handsome glamour if you don’t mind my saying.

    • Thank you! I think they’re important in telling a story. When she was in the nursing home, I decided to hang her engagement portrait on the wall facing the door so folks would know she was much, much more than the woman in the wheelchair living with the aftermath of having a stroke.

  2. It’s so important to enable the connection between the person that was and the person that is. I keep my mother surrounded by pictures and albums she can look at to connect with her former self.

  3. Love these photos, especially the one of the girls sitting on the steps. It reminds me of a picture I have of my grandmother and her sisters. Oh, and thanks for following my blog, too!

    • You have a great blog–no chore to follow 🙂 And yes, aren’t old photos the best? Even though we know better, it seems like those must have been easier times. Jane

  4. I love the premise of your site – my struggle too: loving a mother for the woman she is, not the woman I always wanted her to be. I thank God for two non-distant Grandmothers who lavished love on my (especially one of them) and now, a mother-in-love who has become so dear to me. Blessings to you on your journey, Jane.
